Scientists at Satbayev University have developed technologies to remove heavy metals, radioactive elements, and organic pollutants from water and soil. Using cold plasma, they can destroy complex organic substances, achieving over 99% removal of a model pollutant in about 30 minutes. Biochar is used to restore contaminated soils by retaining and reducing the mobility of metals like copper, zinc, cadmium, and lead.
