Turkmenistan's planned 500-kilovolt Kerki–Kabul transmission line could supply up to 800 megawatts of electricity to Afghanistan. Turkmenistan is also developing the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan (TAP) power transmission project, with a line to the Afghan border completed in August 2021.
