Man Sentenced to 16 Years for Drug Smuggling from Thailand into Kazakhstan

A 20-year-old foreigner has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for smuggling 17 kilograms of drugs from Thailand into Kazakhstan. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that since the beginning of the year, 98 kilograms of narcotics, valued at approximately 2.5 billion tenge, have been seized in Astana and Almaty airports.
