Almaty Court Sentences Head of Asar Baspana Financial Pyramid to Eight Years

A court in Almaty has sentenced the head of the Asar Baspana financial pyramid, N.M. Tuganbayev, to eight years in prison. Three organizers received seven-year sentences, and thirteen regional leaders were given suspended five-year sentences. The pyramid defrauded over 90,000 citizens of more than 25 billion tenge.
