New Akim Appointed in Zhanaozen

Symbat Toretayev has been appointed the new Akim (mayor) of Zhanaozen city, following agreement with the Presidential Administration. Toretayev, 48, has a background in law enforcement and has held various local government positions, most recently as Akim of Karakiyansky district. Two deputy Akims for Mangystau region were also appointed.
