Uzbek Diplomat Mirvokhid Azimov Appointed Secretary General of Turkic States Organization

Uzbek diplomat Mirvokhid Azimov has been appointed the new Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), becoming the first Uzbek to hold the position. The decision was made at the 13th OTS summit in Ankara. Azimov previously served as Deputy Secretary General and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
